Fat Unicorns are a dynamic team of “eco-warriors” dedicated to the conservation and preservation of great Kenyan wildlife in their spare time. Their deep-seated passion for the outdoors and their sense of adventure inspired them to conceptualise an all-female team to take on the challenge of competing in Rhino Charge 2023 with the hope of:
- Raising much-needed funding for the many initiatives of the Rhino Ark Charitable Trust (“the Trust”);
- Raising awareness of the Trust, its causes, and conservation in general; and
- Inspiring young female drive enthusiasts to participate in what is currently a largely male-dominated motorsport event.
Our name FAT UNICORNS was inspired by the unicorn, a legendary creature that has been described since antiquity as a beast with a single large, pointed, spiralling horn projecting from its forehead. More recently the term unicorn refers to a privately held startup company with a value of over $1 billion – Unicorns are very rare and require great innovation. Staying true to the rhino cause our logo bears a sneaky resemblance to a rhino. We’re hoping for some unicorn magic as we embark on our first charge – Help us donate lots of money to Rhino Ark.
