First Time Entrant
Team Loafer are a brand-new set of faces to Rhino Charge, no one has participated before so we are enjoying the planning to become part of the Rhino Charge family. We have decided on a Super-modified Land Rover Discovery, as someone said there was an ‘All the gear and no idea’ award and we thought that would be our best chance of a prize!
The team name comes from someone ‘complaining’ that the local Laikipia red muram had ruined his expensive loafers, hence we considered what event could possible do even more damage to said loafers, and here we are. We will be running one of his loafers bolted to the bonnet and we will save the other one to drink champagne from after we turn upside down in a river getting to an early Checkpoint /break down close to another early Checkpoint / stop to check our loafers half way around or if the Gods are smiling upon us, upon reaching Checkpoint 13 by hopefully not taking the long way around, too often.
We have some great sponsors now, Artcaffe will be providing some croissants to go with Excel’s Reload Isotonic drinks. RustyFundi will be beefing up the rollcage which we will certainly be testing properly and a major sponsor in the form of UK based Antares Defence Systems with Force Effect. We will be painting the car soon and stickering it up.
